Commercial iron that contains carbon in any amount up to about 1.7 percent as an essential alloying constituent is malleable when under suitable conditions, and is distinguished from cast iron by its malleability and lower carbon content; that is “steel” as defined by Merriam-Webster. Our territory has a diverse metals industry providing aluminum, steel, nickel and cobalt superalloys, titanium alloys, and precious metal extraction. These products are used in the aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and medical industries. The Carolinas provide an excellent source of the raw material used in production and infrastructure to transport the final products. Our client base ranges from steel recycling and smelting to the manufacture of titanium alloys used in extreme heat environments.
